For almost a decade, Howard Yaruss served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and member of the management team of Radian Group Inc., one of the largest guarantors of debt in the world. At Radian, he also oversaw several business units and served as the company’s SEC designated Chief Responsibility Officer. Professor Yaruss also practiced law at two large, international law firms, Willkie Farr & Gallagher and Baker & McKenzie, and directed the formation of a new title insurer dedicated to reducing the paperwork and cost of refinancing residential mortgages.
Professor Yaruss attended public schools in Brooklyn, earned a Bachelor of Sciences degree, magna cum laude, in economics and applied mathematics from Brown University, studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science and received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
He currently serves as an expert witness and consultant on the mortgage process and financial insurance and teaches economics at the Lander College for Men.
