Evans J. Legros is an attorney living and practicing law in New York City. He was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Sociology with honors from Union College in Schenectady, New York. While at Union, he spent an academic calendar in Seville, Spain where he attended classes and lived with a host family. He then received a Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts with a focus on International Law & Relations. While a law student, he spent an academic summer at the Faculté de Droit de l'Universite de Nice in France under the instruction of a United States Supreme Court Justice.
After graduating from law school, Attorney Legros immediately returned to New York, passed the New York State Bar Exam, and began work at a busy midtown Manhattan boutique law firm assigned to the Immigration Law Department. It is there that he fine-tuned his Litigation skills and successfully presented hundreds of cases before the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security.
Armed with both determination and a commitment to excellence, he successfully established the Legros Law Firm, PLLC. In its first year alone, the Legros Law Firm, PLLC has grown in all aspects, and has gained the respect of its clients, other attorneys, judges and professionals alike. Attorney Legros’ practice is primarily centered around Real Estate Law and Immigration & Nationality Law where he is often asked to present at various Real Estate conferences and workshops. He represents those who are buying and selling residential homes, condominiums, townhouses, medical suites, and cooperative shares in a variety of developments. The developments are either market-rate, subsidized utilizing governmental grants, or mix-used with real estate tax abatements. His Real Estate, Entertainment Law and Immigration & Nationality Law clientele include major universities, colleges, professionals, magazines, international artists, Emmy Award winning actors, award winning musicians, singers, songwriters, authors, and athletes.
Over the years Attorney Legros established the highly competitive Legros Law Firm Legal Internship Program; in its 15th year, the program continues to attract students and recent graduates from colleges and universities across the Tri‐State area during the academic year as well as during the summer season. The interns are exposed to legal areas in Entertainment Law, Immigration Law, Last Wills & Testamentary Law, Matrimonial Law, and Real Estate Law.
Attorney Legros was inducted into the United States Supreme Court by the Supreme Court Justices. He is a member in Good Standing with the New York State Bar Association, and practices regularly before the United States District Court’s Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
Attorney Legros is also associated with the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, New York County Lawyer’s Association, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and the New York City Bar Association where he participates in Real Estate related forums, and activities through the Solo & Small Law Firm sector.
Attorney Legros continues to dedicate countless hours to charity and volunteer efforts. He regularly presents before the New York City Housing Partnership as a Real Estate Attorney Instructor for the First Time Homebuyer Education Certification Class, and he also serves as a volunteer Legal Mentor with the Eagle Academy for Young Men, as well as The Legal Outreach Program. He currently serves as a Board Advisor to Cause Strategy Partner's Board-Lead program, and has served as a Legal Advisor to the Legros Cultural Arts, Inc., a not-for-profit organization benefiting children who express and educate others about their diverse cultures though dance, music, theatre, and artistic expression, as well as providing legal Pro Bono hours to New Sanctuary Coalition, Dominicanos USA, and to CUNY Citizenship Now!.
